Abigail and the Sahara Adventure by Tali Carmi book review

Abigail and the Sahara Adventure by Tali Carmi is another great book featuring a red headed little girl who finds a magical bike and visits real places with  just a few simple words. Abagail's grand father was a scientist and an inventor, he created a magical bike and a book that can take you anywhere within the pages. Abigail was exploring her grand parents house one day and found these treasures in the attic and has been to the north pole, the jungle and most recently to a tropical island. In this book Abigail goes to the Sahara desert after admiring the sand dunes that run for miles and miles.

The first thing Abigail grabs for her trip is a big brimmed hat. Abigail is a very knowledgeable child who is an observant problem solver. As she flies through the sky she sees a few oasis and lands near a girl walking to a well. When they find out the well is dry Abigail starts to relay what she has seen from above and is asked to speak to the Tribe leader.

I enjoyed this book very much, just as much as the other Abigail Adventures. I like Abagail's personality and how she collects souvenirs from her journeys. I admire Abigail for being such an intelligent young girl who loves to learn and is so social-able. I recommend this book for children 5 to 9 year. It is marked down as an early and beginner reader. It has 26 pages of bright expressive illustrations is a good read aloud and it can simply be turned into a conversation.

You can get this book on Amazon as a ebook for kindle for $0.99 or free kindle unlimited. Unfortunately this book is not available in paper back or hard cover as of yet. You may purchase this book at :

The Hippo Who Did Gymnastics by Michael Rank book review

The Hippo Who Did Gymnastics by Michael Rank and Illustrated by Justin Eccles, is a book about a Hippo who was doubted because of stereotype. No one believe that Humphrey the Hippo would master the balance beam, let alone even jump and nail a landing. But he did and he received a 10! He might have knocked over his team mates in the process with the force of his landing, but weight is not really a stereotype is it, it's a reality. This humorous book is read in first person by a dog who is in gymnastics and is observing while performing his routines.

Humphrey is doubted because of size and his broadness, but he prevailed and delivered. This book also delivers with

You can also download a free bonus audiobook with the website in the front, and providing your email and verifying you email. The first email came in my junk mail box as I expected ( I have a high security level, I really hate junk mail) very quickly, the second email with the website came in my inbox after a minute or so and was direct. The only thing I am still a little confused about is that it said an ebook download so as it was my first of its kind, I though that it would stay on my tablet as a audio, instead of the website, but can use it repeatedly, I guess you would just have to bookmark the page to return to it later.

We liked the way the story was read by the woman, but would have maybe liked low background voices reading the other character responses in the word bubbles. I like how some of the pages had a small section at the bottom showing how the other animals performed but some of these small sections I think were good enough to be put on a page before Humphrey performed and still be able to stay on track. Over all I liked this book, it had simple drawings that children could repeat which as Mo Willems author of the Don't let the Pigeon ... series would say, children can repeat, which leads them to grow confidence and create their own characters and flourish in creativity.

I recommend this book to children ages 3 to 7 with a few complicated words mostly dealing with  activities done in gymnastics, such as balance, vault, momentum. This book currently cost $3.99 on  Amazon.com as an ebook for Kindle, can be read on the Kindle unlimited for free. You also have the option to read a sample on this direct website as well :

Terry Treetop Finds New Friends by Tami Cali book review

Terry Treetop is a great series and this book is no different. The reason I like this book and the Terry Treetop series is because Terry is independent and he believes that he can get what he wants. Terry finds his way home after chasing a butterfly and losing track of where he was, Terry helps a lost egg get home and even seeks help by climbing up a tree to view his surroundings in order to save a trapped dolphin in a fisher's net.

Terry Treetop Finds New Friends by Tami Cali is the first of the Terry Treetop series. He moves into a new home in the country and his father builds him a tree house, because Terry likes to climb trees :) and who doesn't want a tree house. Terry is shown as a 5 year old chubby red headed boy with freckles and described in all his books but I think that he learns how to take care of his clothes because Terry is wearing torn clothes. Which you would associate with a tree climber especially one at such a young age.

Terry is enjoying his tree house, but soon becomes lonely and goes with a backpack and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to find a new or new friends to bring back to his tree house. Terry encounters a large about of animals and some abnormally huge, but very charming and beautifully drawn. All the characters/animals can be seen doing something associated with what they do or are known for in real life, for example the Bee that Terry meets is storing honey to make buns and the sheep is heard clicking away while she knits. This charming book is filled with fun and entertaining dialogue.

Terry soon grows weary and tired and decides to go home, on his way he meets a small lovable animal stuck in a tree. Trees! Terry's specialty :D Terry soon gets the gathering that he wanted at his tree house and additional surprises too.

This book is takes about 12 minutes to read with out pause, 42 pages long and brightly illustrated. I would recommend it to children ages 4 or 5 to 8. My 8 year old and myself have read this book along with my 6 year old and have found it enjoyable and not complicated to understand. It is a good read out loud, read along, or independent book.
Terry Treetop along with the other books in the series can be brought for $0.99 on Amazon as an ebook or brought as paper back or hard copy, it can also be borrowed in the kindle unlimited membership for free. Here is the direct link to this particular book:

Terry Treetop and the lost egg by Tali Carmi book review

Terry Treetop is a book written by Tali Carmi from the Terry Treetop series. Terry Treetop is a 5 year old red headed boy chubby with freckles that loves to climb trees and explore nature.

In this book Terry is out camping with his family near the sea and decides to climb a tree to get a better view of his surroundings. Terry spots an egg on the ground next to a stump and decides to get closer investigate.

Terry Treetop ginger lifts the and places it in a basket, as he looks for the owner of the egg he encounters numerous woods animals. Terry meets a sea turtle named Sandy,an alligator named Ally and a frog. There are more animals in the book and each one explains why their habitat is the best one for them and they also explain how they care for their young.

Terry eventually finds a nest in a tree that is obviously missing an egg and places it back. Soon after the mother of the egg returns and Terry talks to her and learns why she lives in the location she does and how she takes care of her young.

I recommend this book and the Terry Treetop series for children who are adventurous, curious about animals and/or like to be informed about different environments/habitats/regions would enjoy this book. I see this book as a a book for 4 year old to 8 year old. The youngest can follow along as the older they get the more independent they can pursue reading alone or better yet reading to you. They illustrations are colorful and engaging.

At the end the author Tali Carmi writes a thank you letter and tells a little about herself. She also has written Abigail and the Adventure in the ... (Jungle, North pole, Sahara, and the new addition Tropical Island) Tali has a Adventure & Education series Animal Habitats & Environment Collection suited for ages 2-6.

"Not A Word About Love" by Hana Goldberg Book review

This book starts in Israel and travels to Thailand and is about a beautiful middle aged woman names Maya who finds herself in a sad routine, in a revolting marriage with a man that sees her more as a bitter child rather then a troubled, injured woman. And she sees him as the total opposite of an sympathetic husband; who feels he needs to put her life in order like she is one of his psychiatric patients. She feels the only right thing he has done and the only good thing he has done for her was to tell her to go to Thailand  and so that she could relax and possibly screen write something she feels is more worthy then ripping up and tossing in a waste basket.... that and a business card.

She loves her pre-teen Tamar and a mother who passed away from cancer dearly. But since her mother's  passing she has not been able to cry and instead has allowed it to harbor and fester deep within her soul . She slowly suffers in silence and misery. You can see all of Maya's pain and envy as she observes other couples.

You find yourself along side Maya and see very person moments including falling flat on her face... literally. Little by little you see what she has been through and you understand why she makes such irrational spontaneous decisions ... Like meeting a  man on the plane and fornicating with him then and there.Maya's obsession with this total stranger that she meets on a plane sends her into an unforeseen turmoil and destroys herself worth at times. Soon as Maya works on her self-confidence and control, she finds that this stranger who is fooling with her emotions is not all he is saying he is.

I felt the author chose this title because most of Maya's difficulties were not that she had been through something but rather how she dealt with the situation during and prior. People tend to say "Oh, that is just the way it is in life/love, relationships or as a parent". Rather then trying to stop and actually emotionally help a person. Sometimes we forget that life is not a robotic environment and people don't handle thing in a perfect way all the time. There are moments when we need a break from "our lives" and need to be spontaneous, these times can find us in paradise situations or under a bus. But it is always about learning. That is what I took away from this book. That regardless what you have been through you can't really use that to allow yourself to make bad choices. Life is too short and should be enjoyed.

Knowing nothing about this book or who birthed it prior to reading it I would have liked to know she was from Israel in the beginning and that that is where the story starts. It took me awhile to adjust and I had to rewind the story in my mind to make geographic and cultural adjustments but I did enjoy the book. I would recommend this book to someone who would like to read about a Character over coming self doubt and learning what it is they really want in life.

Terry Treetop Where Is My Home? book review

Terry Treetop is back in another adventure, but this time the little adventurous 5 year old red headed chubby freckle face tree climber. has to find HIS way home. Terry Treetop gets so involved in climbing a tree and chasing a butterfly that he doesn't realize that he has gone too far from home.

Terry Treetop tries climbing a tree to see where his home was but he couldn't find it. Terry tries to find his way home and meets animal families along the way at their homes. Terry

Terry Treetop learns how animals make their homes, why they choose these specific spots and what if any advantages they have having these homes. Under ground burrows by rabbits  between high bushes and grass conceal the entrance so predators can not find it.

Terry also starts to get hungry and each different type of animal gives him their favorite foods to snack on, but Terry doesn't like the clover the rabbit gives him or the water lily the beaver gives him to try; none of there foods taste anything like the apple pie waiting at home for him.

Terry Treetop soon climbs another tree to see if he could find his home and he sees his tree house near by. Terry walks to his tree house and home and sees the same butterfly from earlier he walks in his perfectly sized home and tells the butterfly it is time for him to go home, and he heads inside.

I recommend this book and the Terry Treetop series for young animal lovers. this book is fictional with plenty of informative conversations with local animals and is vibrantly illustrated.

"I am Dreaming About..." (dog) by Dan Jackson book review

"I am Dreaming about..." is a well written book about what it is that dogs dream about  from the perspective of a Max a 6 year old dog. The author Dan Jackson tells a story and underneath are educational facts in the for of "Do you know" statements. There is also an engaging section in the back encouraging parents and care takers to ask children about their dreams. This book is a beginner book and is best for children 4 to 8.

It is a good read out loud or self read and the pictures are so colorful and well illustrated. Children can definitely read this book over and over again. This book leaves an open question at the end "What are dreaming about?" to engage a conversation between you and your child and at the end are 8 pages you could print out to color if you desire.

There are currently 3 other books in this "Dreams" series one containing a dolphin (which I read and like very much), the other a cat and the last a shark. Dan Jackson also has a Animal club series that are non-fiction books containing actual photographs of the featured animal. You can also sign up for subscription list and receive a free book. Almost Dan Jackson's books are free through Kindle Unlimited or can be purchased for $0.99 via Amazon down below, also the printable coloring pages can be sent to you through by email, you just have to write to the author at the email at the end of the book.

Abigail and the Jungle Adventure by Tali Carmi book review

Abigail in the Jungle book Adventure is the first book in a series written by Tali Carmi staring a little girl named Abigail who finds a magical bicycle her grandfather made when he was a scientist and inventor. With this magic bicycle and a geography book along with just a few simple magic words she can travel any place she imagines.

Abigail desires to visit the Amazon Jungle and sees many animals as soon as she arrives, a toucan, monkeys and a jaguar cub. After she retrieves the feather that she received from the toucan  she meets a villager named Nuka and is invited back to his village. The book smoothly delivers facts about animals and their habitats and surrounding terrain while staying interesting. And little drawers will love mimicking the beautiful illustrations. She later returns home the same way she came, right before dinner and the only recognition she receives that anyone believes her about her adventure is a smile and wink from her grandfather.

This book is suitable for children 4 to 8. Out loud to the younger children and assisted reading to older children. This is the first in the series, others include a trip to the north pole and the Sahara desert. There is a new book that has also been released called Abigail and the Tropical Island Adventure.

Body Merry Age Defense Eye Cream review

A wonderful refreshing eye cream that magically removes dark spots and puffiness with a hint of citrus
I absolutely love this eye cream. The texture is light enough to wear without the feeling of being weighed down , while it does exactly what it says it can do decrease Dark Circles, Wrinkles, Puffiness, Crow's Feet, Fine Lines & Bags. I rub this magic cream under my eyes and above my eye lids every morning and every night and a small amount does go along way! I have had the same small container since January!  I can see it at it's best when I am sleep deprived and can not hide the dark circles and bags. Along with the citrus scent of this cream I felt refreshed and my dark circles and puffiness disappeared.

There are more then 70 ingredients including: Vitamins C + E + B5, Peptide Complex, Amino Acid Emulsification, Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol, Antioxidants, MSM. Leo SuperHero - A Sunday Morning Adventure

Leo SuperHero - A Sunday Morning Adventure is about a boy who with the help of his costume creating mother is proper super hero. Leo definitely shows the super power that is lost and never really appreciated in most super heroes.... the power to problem solve.

Leo is sleeping, and awoken by his cat Milkshake one Sunday morning to solve a problem that probably would have had his mother screaming and standing on a chair. Leo downs his cap and follows his trusted feline companion to the kitchen to find a baby mouse is hidden inside a small hole in the wall.

Leo quickly maneuvers a plan to trap the baby mouse using legos, cheese and a cereal box. While he waits for the mouse to be lured out of it's hiding he casually snacks on the cereal and explains to Milkshake the need for patience.

Once the mouse is in the box, Leo quickly releases it in the back yard near 2 larger mice he found earlier and gives them all a piece of cheese each.

Leo Saved a baby mouse, ate breakfast, and reunited an entire family with the help of his non mouse eating cat, not to mention quietly.... without waking anyone up! A super Hero indeed! I can not wait to see where Leo might find himself next.

I think that anyone with an inner super hero or anyone who likes quick short amusing stories would definitely adore this book. It is easy read so it can be read by you or to you. It is also easy to comprehend the first time around so your little one can follow along without getting frustrated.

Leo SuperHero - A Sunday Morning Adventure is a ebook 25 pages long directed to children ages 4-9. Beautifully illustrated and written. It can be read free by Kindle unlimited members or purchased for $0.99 and added to your Kindle. This link will connect you directly to  Leo SuperHero - A Sunday Morning Adventure purchase page:

Crest - Pro Health HD two step toothpaste review

This My friends is the best home testing product I have had in a LONG time! I would put this product I received from Smiley360 right next to the Coppertone sunny day sunscreen I received from Bzzagent.com last year. Or above it!

May I introduce to you the 2 step Crest Pro Health HD teeth whitener! This product can be brought at Target for $12.99 or at CVS and Walmart (I am not sure of their prices).

We will be using bullets for this blog, and here we go... :
  • I can testify that within even the first use I saw a difference in the color of my teeth
  • 3 shades lighter within 2 weeks
  • It is still holding and has a slower pace but beautiful realistic results
  • I use it every day 2x a day instead of my old toothpaste
  • I am still on the same containers I started with at the end of January
  • It taste minty and not to peroxide - y
  • I only use it for a few seconds each not the whole minute each, and it still works!
  • My dark tooth has even lightened a little ( so I smile more =D )
  • The great compared to the more expensive procedures and products
  • I can honestly say it is better then the average whitening tooth paste that I have tried
I have been working on improving myself over the last few years. First it was my eating habits. Then it was my weight ( I lost and have kept off the 20lb I could not get rid of, I want to lose 10 to 20 more this year). My teeth have always been on my list but toothpaste whiteners weren't really showing me the results I wanted. Then there was my "dead tooth" which is a tooth that has very damaged or dead nerves which basically is best pulled out. But mine is 3rd from the front on my left side. I don't want to take it out, mostly because it is my tooth, it belongs to me and I want to keep it regardless of it's condition :) It is still beautiful. But not getting it replaced with a fake tooth leaves me with a dark yellowy gray tooth. And that can really draw attention to my mouth, especially on mad days. My weight lost has drawn more attention to me so I had been learning how to smile while hiding the gray tooth but still showing the yellow teeth :/ .

But now I swear I am honest about this review! I have a great teeth whitener to add to the list. I do like how my mouth feels and I love how brighter and healthier my teeth are and look and how more confident I feel! I were red lipstick a lot now, partly due to Crest Pro- Health HD and I can be the happy person I want to be and not have people stare down at my teeth because they were yellow from "wear and tear" of food and my teens and 20's HAHA!!! I stopped smoking 9 years ago when I had my first child =) but I still drink coffee, BUT yellow no more!!!!

You should definitely try it. I think the best way to try new products or products you are not sure about is to get a sample kit or check the clearance section. I know Target has one and I have snagged plenty of stuff that I wanted to try out. There are some wins and some not so wins, but never a lose if you find out the answer to your question!

This is definitely going to replace my regular toothpaste, and yes I am Smiling =D

If I had to leave you with one thought about Crest Pro Health HD it would be 3 SHADES WHITER!!!!

Tali Carmi's Terry Treetop and the dolphin book review

This was the first book in the Terry Treetop series written by Tali Carmi that I read. Terry treetop is a book about a boy who loves to climb trees and is very in touch with nature and his surroundings . He learns about the habitats of animals and his curiosity sometimes leads him from home to adventuresome experiences and at some point up a tree! Haha!

I have read another series written by Tali Carmi called Abigail and the..."North pole" or "Sahara" or "Jungle" Adventure (respectively) Abigail is about a young girl that finds a magical book and bike that transports her to anywhere she desires with the use of magical words.

In this book Terry finds himself in a very realistic situation where he can not himself save an animal, but wisely calls on the help of an adult professional in order to rescue a wild baby dophin from a net.

While Terry treetop and his family were on vacation he decided the best place to get a better view of the land layout was to climb a tree…. As usual. Terry observes dolphins playing in the water not far from where he is. Terry compares the actions and attitude of a baby Dolphin to that of a human child. He sees him as intelligent, curious and names him Dido.

Dido wants to play with Terry  but gets caught in a fisherman's net and he tried calling for his mother but she could not reach him and no matter how hard he tried he couldn't  get loose. Terry Treetop knew that this was not a situation  he could solve himself  so he climbed a tree to see who could help him. He finds a marine ranger who has to put loads off stuff on and bring equipment  to dive and carefully  cut out Dido the dolphin because  a fisherman so carelessly left his net. In the end Terry  Treetop  does get to play with the baby Dolphin with the help of the marine ranger.

I like this book because  it is about the natural behavior  of dolphins  and a realistic threat to marine wildlife.  I think this book is well suited for children who like animals and want to learn about their traits and habitats.
